Havana will be the backdrop for our first three nights where we do photo walks focusing on portraits and architecture, visit the studio of a renowned Cuban photographer, hold a photoshoot with a Cuban local model and designer, and talk political history with Cuban friends. We visit the infamous factory turned nightclub/art gallery/music venue while still having time for a beach day, improvised street shoots, moments to wander on our own, and lots of live music and dancing.
For the last two nights, we make our way to the quieter Cuban countryside where we share traditional Cuban food from the farm, visit artist friends in their home studio for lunch, hike into the tobacco fields to learn the art of growing and rolling cigars, capture portraits with guajiros (Cuban farmers), sit under a waterfall, horseback ride, and read in a hammock.
*To attend this trip, all participants must bring donations to be given to the families and friends we’ll be meeting on our trip. A list of donation suggestions will be provided.
