Our journey begins in Ulaanbaatar, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the city’s creative energy before venturing into the vast landscapes of the Mongolian steppe, the ancient Orkhon Valley, and Khustai National Park.
Nine days filled with creative exploration: photo walks through Ulaanbaatar’s neighborhoods and markets with a local historian, visits to Mongolian artists, galleries, women-led cooperatives, and a studio visit with a Mongolian woman photographer, followed by a photoshoot with local models and a Mongolian designer. We’ll travel deep into the countryside to photograph the sweeping Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, ancient Karakorum, Buddhist monasteries, and the dramatic landscapes of the Orkhon Valley.
In between all this creation, we’ll spend time with nomadic families, making portraits and sharing meals in their homes, meet local craftspeople, photograph the wild horses of Khustai National Park, and experience Mongolia’s rich cultural traditions firsthand. Along the way, we’ll talk cameras, creativity, storytelling, and the art of making meaningful photographs while connecting with the women, artists, families, and communities who call Mongolia home. A week of wide-open landscapes, cultural discovery, creative collaboration, and unforgettable adventures on the Mongolian steppe.
